Workplace Excellence Organizational Profile and Survey


nanciepayneawardNancie Payne, Ph.D., was a longstanding member of the Board of Directors for Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (PacMtn). PacMtn is, a community based organization, whose mission is to lead dynamic regional workforce development that enhances economic success throughout  Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Pacific and Grays Harbor counties.  Nancie served multiple years as the Chair of the WDC and was well known throughout the public workforce system as a staunch advocate for workers and those seeking to improve their lives through jobs and careers.  She was founder and President of Payne & Associates and the Northwest Center for the Advancement of Learning. She was elected President of the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) and served at various levels of the organization whose sole purpose was to improve the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Nancie was a sought after speaker and professional development trainer across the United States and Canada in the field of adult special needs learning.

Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (PacMtn) is proud to offer the Nancie Payne Workplace Excellence Award in honor of Nancie, her commitments and her tremendous contributions to workforce development. The award will recognize workplaces with demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service, meaningful employee engagement, and work place cultures that are constructive, diverse, empowering and progressive.

The application review committee will choose up to four winners; three honorable mentions and one grand prize.  Winners will be chosen from across the PacMtn 5 county region and will represent diverse businesses that exemplify the spirit of the Nancie Payne Award.   $1,000 in prize money will be awarded for the overall winner.  Award can be used toward employee development, employee enjoyment and employee acknowledgement.

Directions on how to fill out the Organizational Profile and Employee Survey

  1. An organizational representative will fill out Section 1: Organizational Profile and provide the email addresses of selected staff. Small businesses of 10 employees or less would have at least 3 employees complete the survey. Large businesses of 11 employees or more would have at least 30%, not to exceed 10, fill out the survey. Completed profiles and address list will be sent to Vanessa@pacmtn.org.
  2. When the completed Organizational Profile and email addresses for participating staff are received, a link to a confidential Employee Survey will be sent.
  3. The review committee will review and rank completed applications, based on the application criteria.
  4. Award winners and Honorary Mentions will be notified in writing about their selection. Announcement and award will be given at the December 7, 2017 Regional Expo.

*Alternative to online submissions: In the event of a technical issue, or if the employer would like an alternative way to submit their materials, they can also have the opportunity to fill out the Profile and employee survey in paper form by the deadline and mail it to:

Application materials and surveys are to be completed and submitted by 11:59 pm Friday, November 13th, 2017. Winners will be notified by November 20th, 2017.
